This website is intended to convey what diesel locomotive enthusiasm is all about - there are many sites out here in www land for people who wish to come over all tearful at the "Spirit of Steam", though comparably few that serve those people for which internal combustion makes cry, but also choke! (see pictures).

Of course, many people will go on about steam, but remember that what originally replaced steam in many countries is now also either gone or going and deserves as much recognition. In some countries, the loco's that replaced the loco's that replaced steam are beginning to come under threat. And so on.

What some describe as "Vile abominations" or "Paraffin cans", is really part of history, past, present and future, and as I intend to show on this site, the better examples have as much character and individuality as the steam that it replaced.

Although this site appears to be UK Diesel Hydraulic oriented, it is not restricted to those subjects. The UK does not have a monopoly on modern traction with character!!
